Lately I've painted a series of rays, some common rays, some spotted eagle rays and some made up rays with lots of colors. They're fun to paint and there are so many different ways to paint them. This new painting is the classic symbiotic relationship between a stingray and a permit that you will encounter many times if you have ever fished for permit with a flyrod. The permit will stalk the ray waiting for the ray to kick up edible sealife as they feed along the bottom. The permit is much more agile and will usually eat better than the ray.
