Marker 38 just happens to be an acrylic painting which I rarely do when there is a lot of blending to do. I'm not sure how that happened but it did and I think it turned out well. I do like the fact that you can paint over things as you go along almost immediately when you need to. Here in my area of North Florida there are scenes like this around every corner much like the everglades paintings that have been done over the years by every artist in South Florida. It's almost a requirement that you paint one of these just to prove you can do it. I have done some underwater fish paintings like that.....just to prove I can do it!
Here we have a low tide situation that you look for in the summer where you can find redfish swimming around looking for crabs buried in the mud while they're waiting for the tide to turn so they can move out of the main channel and get into the creeks and tributaries where the real delicacies are. These fish are pretty easy to catch if you have the right fly that resembles what they're trying to catch.
